  6. EZ Download 96 is a plug-in that makes downloading programs a snap.
  7. It can be plugged into both Netscape and America Online WWW Browser.

  11. moving it, unzipping it, locating the install program and finally
  12. cleaning after it frustrating, then EZ Download is for you.

  61. Netscape saves .zip and .exe files in the folder pointed to by
  62. the TEMP environment variable.
  63.  
  64. The Windows default for the TEMP setting is C:\DOS, which is messy if not
  65. dangerous.

  67. To change the TEMP setting to C:\Windows\temp for example, insert the
  68. following line in C:\autoexec.bat:

  70. set temp=C:\Windows\temp
  71.

  73. Once Netscape finishes downloading the .zip or the .exe, EZ Download
  74. unzips and/or runs it in a temporary folder under the Download folder
  75. (C:\downloaded files by default).

  77. If you choose to not install the file right away, EZ Download simply
  78. moves it to the Download folder. To install it later, right click on the
  79. file and select EZ Install.

  81. EZ Download requires pkunzip.exe to unzip files. By default, it expects it
  82. to be in a folder that is on your PATH (which is another environment variable).
  83. However, if that's not your case, you can set pkunzip.exe's location under
  84. Options.
